Pre-Production: Funding examples

Choose three media products and for each, give specific examples of what finance is required for:

Women's Health Magazine:

Salaries - There are numerous amounts of people who need paying for working on the production of the magazine. This can change monthly as each month different cover models and articles are published. Depending on the popularity of the model and their following depends on the wage they will require. The editors and staff who work to create the magazine will require a monthly wage however this will be a set wage and will stay the same throughout unless of pay rises and bonuses. The other staff such as receptionists and assistants will all also require a monthly wage and the company will also have to pay monthly for the rental of their offices and studios. Other people that need to be paid are the stylists, costume designers, makeup artists, and all of the crew that are needed on the day of the shoot such as photographers.
Transport - The magazine company will have to pay for the transport of models and staff on shoot days depending on the location the studio will be. On a daily basis there office staff will be reliable for their own transport so the only times that the company will have to pay is if they are sending a journalist out to cover an event or story or if there is a photoshoot.
Rental of equipment - The company will have to hire a range of different equipment in order to publish the magazine monthly. From camera equipment to take the photographs for the magazine or for the printers to publish the magazine. They will also need to rent studios or locations for photoshoots to take place.
