Legal requirements:
Insurance is essential when creating a media product. Without insurance if a member of the crew of staff is injured with the production company being at fault it can result in large claims against the company and also being taken to court in extreme cases. To avoid this liability insurance is needed. This covers the production company incase something goes wrong during the production. The production company is also bound by law to take reasonable health and safety measures when filming. They have to make sure the working environment is safe for all crew and cast. If the regulations are not followed they can be sued. Production company's also need to take consideration when filming with children. If the child is under the school leavers age they must have a child performance license. The number of hours they can work also depends on the age of the child and it is the production company's responsibility to ensure they follow the regulations.
